![]() ![]() Now the Western font is carved in stone default, and looking high and low I am unable to to find how to disable it (unselect it) under any Options category, and set a different text encoding default. ![]() This problem is fairly recent as it wasn't there in the past. I have to change the Text Encoding from Western (that is now permanently selected)to Unicode to get normal display for each and every message. I am lately receiving English messages with strange symbols between words (A with a roof) for space. I have latest update of Thunderbird - 60.6.1 but this problem goes back some. There is a drop down list under View/Text Encoding where one can change the encoding for the single message you are trying to read. There is no settings for changing default Text encoding that will stick.
